ResearchDr. Kirkpatrick's research is in algorithms. He is an expert in designing combinatorial and statistical algorithms for application in all sub-fields of computer science. Human health motivates much of his applied work, and he writes algorithms to address problems in computational biology, computational genetics, and machine learning. Human health data is safeguarded by information privacy, and Dr. Kirkpatrick also develops algorithms for computer security and computer forensics.
